What CleanFeed Does

CleanFeed is a browser extension that gives you control over your YouTube experience. It lets you permanently block channels, filter content by keywords and topics, manage interest boundaries, and hide Shorts.

Data We Collect

None. CleanFeed does not collect any personal data, browsing history, or usage analytics.

Data Stored Locally

CleanFeed stores your preferences using Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local). This includes:

Blocked channel names and handles
Blocked keywords and topic categories
Interest boundaries and saved interests
Extension settings (Shorts hiding, language preference, etc.)
A log of recently hidden videos (up to 100 entries)
Basic usage counters (channels blocked, videos hidden)

This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to any server, not even ours.

Payments

CleanFeed offers an optional Pro upgrade handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe for payment processing. When you choose to upgrade:

Payment is processed entirely by Stripe through ExtensionPay
We never see or store your credit card details
ExtensionPay stores only your payment status (paid or free)

Permissions Explained

storage — Save your preferences locally on your device
alarms — Run daily Smart Decay to auto-remove stale interests
Host permission (youtube.com) — Read and modify YouTube pages to block channels, filter content, and hide Shorts

Third-Party Services

CleanFeed does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising services. The only third-party integration is ExtensionPay for optional payment processing.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third party. Period.

Children's Privacy

CleanFeed does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of CleanFeed after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
